General Data Protection Regulation

UNISON has been updating resources following recent changes to the law on data protection and the earlier changes on the collection of political and campaign funds.

This includes updates to all UNISON membership application forms.

The previous standard application form has been split into two forms to ensure they are compliant with the new legislation : one to collect subs through members’ wages, known as Docas, (Deduction of Contribution at Source) and the other via direct debit.

The Docas forms also include a direct debit section for collection of campaign fund and Labour Link contributions only. This contribution is taken annually in October.

Our new application form also allows members to select whether they wish to be contacted by email text, or phone.

For more information on how we use your data you can go to www.unison.org.uk/privacy-policy.

It is important that we maintain accurate up to date details for our membership records so if you move house, get married and change your name, or get a new job, please let us know at the office as soon as possible so that we can amend the information we have for you.
